What can you tell me about my electric guitar

I did a bit of loft clearance with my Dad over the break and came across my old electric guitar. I think it was a hand-me-down several times before I got it.

I'll probably sell it. Can you tell if it is the real deal or a copy from the photos? How much is it worth with an amp and cable?

Looks as though someone has tried carving "Fender" into the front of the headstock. Got a picture of the back of the headstock? Is there a serial number?

Also, if you unscrew the backplate you can take a picture inside the spring cavity which may show the quality of the wood/construction used.

From your photos, the only other place the S/N could be are on the end of the neck, where it attaches to the body

Even if it's a genuine though, it's in such a poor condition that I doubt it would be worth much in its current state anyway.

(The damage on the headstock looks to me like someone has tried to draw "fender" with a biro pen, suggesting it's probably not a genuine one anyway).

That's also what I thought about the fender logo. It also doesn't work very well - it only amplifies on the left most pick-up setting.

Well, there is no date stamp or anything on the base of the neck, or on the body of the guitar.

So, as a non-genuine no name copy, that doesn't work it's not worth anything at all really?

Edit - here is the construction of the springy things and wood. I'd taken the front... grabby things... for the strings already by this point.

Balsa wood body and neck, monkey metal tuners / string trees, Chinese block bridge saddles, Chinese flat pole-piece pickups, tiny monkey metal trem block, wrongly dimensioned headstock and name carved into it.

£20 quid I'm afraid. With the amp.
