I have a focus ltd edition 1.6 with 17" alloys, koni sport suspension and a full magnex exhaust (and other bits and bobs tints etc...) and thinking about swapping for something faster....
2 questions.

What cars for the 5-6 grand I could get for mine dont want to go too old as dont fancy too much maintinence.
Bear in mind I'm 20 and have 3 years NCB.
Was looking at a clio sport thinking the garage may do a swap with small amounts of money involved but dont think I could insure it so other options...

cheers guys!

I presume by Clio sport you mean a 172? If so, Surely you could get a non Cat D one for 5-6k. I don't see insurance being too much of a problem, it all depends on how much you're prepared to pay for it.

How about a Seat Toledo/Leon 20v T? You could probably get a really nice one for that.

dont really want to pay much over a grand for insurance though, and the cat D one is an 02 plate with 37000 on the clock which is cheap!

edit - just got a quote from elephant at £1800 so I think the clio sport is a no-no.

What are you young fast- ish car people withoit stupid insurance quotes driving?

It'd be a reasonable price for a non Cat D one.

How much are you paying (insurance) for your Focus?

Renewal is next week its £750 for a year fully comp with all mods declared, so if it was standard it would be a couple of hundred less. so something faster but standard should be do-able for around the grand mark, just dont know what.

Edit : forget the cat D clio, dubious anyway, but cant insure a clio sport for sensible money anyway

dont know much about the hyudai's? whats reliability/speed like?
F2 evolutions look nice how are they better than the normalk 2.0se. any down sides? could get a spanking low miles one for 4-5k as well. I'll check the insurance.

EDIT: Just tried a quote and its £1000 who are you insured with?
I dont know if I'm best sticking with what I have for a while. I think whatever I get will be worse than mine apart from a bit more power.
I just fancy a change for something a bit quicker, but my car handles so well.....

I wouldnt have thaught I could insure any of that list for less than silly money!
NUD quoted me £780 for a year or 580 for 9 months rapid bonus on an F2 evolution... hmmmm still basically swapping mine for something 3 years older with more mielage though.... Any other ideas or opinions on the hyudai?
