What Car?

First car was a VW Lupo Sport 1.4 - Was a fantastic little run around and managed to squeeze a bit of power out of it pushing it to about 115bhp.

My next car and current car is a Peugeot 106 GTI with a lot of power mods to it ranging from port and polish, to kent cams, and blitz exhaust, air filter etc... the usual.

It's a great car, and i know that a lot of people slate peugeot's and french cars in general but i love it, but it's an R reg sitting on 92,000 miles and i think that any money put into it will result in swallowing that money up.

So i'm now in the market for a new car.

Insurance is a major factor.

I'm 20 with 1 year ncb and i pay £1400 fully comp with all the mods on the 106.

In July i will be 21 with 2 years ncb's so i'll be buying a new car then.

I'm after something with a bit more poke, i mean my GTI does 0-60 in 6.1 and i've had it off the speedo (140mph) (on a track by the way) but i want something around the 190bhp mark as standard with the opportunity to tune it slightly.

I have been looking at either -

BMW 325i coupe but i heard that they can be quite dull and people get bored of them quickly.

Other choice is one of my favorite cars -

Subaru Impreza WRX 2 Litre Turbo as i'd love to have a 4wd car, and a turbo fascinates me, and the fact that my brother has owned 4 and my cousin has owned 3, so any help with tuning them, modding them etc... i have help at stand by.

Any other recommendations?

My car is insurance group 13, but a scooby is 20, so i could go up for the right car but my budget is around the £5k mark which i could buy either of the above cars on that budget.

Cheers,

Andy

Forgot, you've been in it, haven't you?

I've timed the 0-60, and i have a picture of it doing over 140mph, please, if you want to see, i will upload it.

Don't like Integra's by the way, but thanks for the suggestion.

Kent Cams
Bigger valves/pistons/springs
Port and polish
Sports cat
Raceland manifold
Piggyback ECU
Superchip
Blitz Nurspec exhaust
BMC CDA Air filter
Skimmed head i believe?
60mm Lowered
FSE boost valve

Got tons of receipts somewhere, but either way, i bought the car with all of them mods and its great fun.

There we go :)

Sat Nav indicated 152mph, not too sure on how accurate my sat nav is, but it was bloody quick.

It was a track a minute ago?

Edit: aah good, you've remembered you said track and had a quick edit ;)

Prefer a video to 60mph? So you can time it yourself?

Give me a day :)

I'm no expert but piggy back ecu and Superchip? :p

Neil.

Smaller ECU for running the electrics so i'm told, main ECU is superchipped.

I didn't get the ECU and superchip done?

Either way, why are we talking about how fast my current car is, and i frankly dont give a rats arse if you guys dont believe me, i know how quick it is, and that's all that matters to be honest.

So, what new car?

You do realise a fatal flaw in your plans to fool everyone...wind resistance (the 106 is a brick basically) and surface condition. The wobble from the road and the wind would make taking one hand off the wheel a very stupid mistake, quite possibly your last.

As for the photo, someone's been playing behind his dash.

And as for a car, if you want something quicker than your ever so awesome 106 for £5k that's easily insurable, I doubt you'll find anything.

Don't really have a problem with wobble as i have stiffened lowered suspension, and wind has trouble getting under the car due to that as you can see in this pic -

I can pick up a good condition scooby for under £5k easily.

Main reason i like the 106 GTI is because it's understated, people think it's a done up 106 1.1 etc... until you pull away from them all :p

Bumper was missing as i was doing the headlights :P

Got silver Ecosse dails in there now with red bulbs behind, looks quite snazzy, will take some more pix once i've changed the bulbs as some are faded.

lol @ Aruffell

Even the people over at 106 owners don't believe you.

189bhp on those mods, not a chance.

Don't have to, i'm not bothered who believes me.

I know how fast my car is, that's all that matters.

It certainly is if you've managed to earn enough to clear what, £12,000 of debt after being at work for 1 month :)

Didn't say i've paid back all of the debt, and if you stopped trying to nit pick and acting like a tool (polite word for what i'd love to say :D) then you would have read this -

"In July i will be 21 with 2 years ncb's so i'll be buying a new car then."
