What car?

Hi,

Looking to get a new car soon.

Just looking for some idea's on what car to get.

Rear wheel drive
Fastish a turbo would be nice.
Nothing to old that would require to much maintenance and would be ideal to be quite reliable.
Now there is a lot of options but here's my problem i really want something with 4 seats... i know the seats may not be quite usable in a car like this but i still want them there...

Haven't really had much luck been looking at MR2 but again only 2 seats...
MX5 etc

Price range is up to 5,000 and obviously the cheaper the better

You are asking for the impossible really, 5k will only buy old stuff that will need constant TLC.

I said not to much maintenance i don't mind a little bit but as long as it won't break the bank!

I may be biased, but an E46 330i fits criteria other than the turbo. Maintenance is as you'd expect for a 7+ year old car, but nothing too expensive.

Friend had a RX8 he loved it but caused him a lot of hassle maybe his one was just a bad one. Had to constantly flush the engine... or something like that? And they drink oil aswell? Not sure if i'm correct..

The mazda is about as far from a low maintenance car as you could ever get - unless you count (likely) rebuilds every few years as a consumable item!

That said, for £3k you can get into a rebuilt, relatively new car that should give you little in the way of issues for the time it's got an engine warranty. Run it for a year or so, flog it and recover what you can.

Toyota Supra? a bit old but reliable within reason.

I think with your spec you might want to consider for some N/A 6 cylinder around the 10 year old mark, Something like an e46.

The problem is you cant have something reliable, cheap and fast, Unfortunately you can only pick 2 out of the 3.

Toyota supra would be nice but considering i'll be only 21 with a years no claims and 3 years driving under my name don't quite think they would insure me on one.

Been looking at Mitsubishi GTO, Nissan 300zx?

What makes you think a Supra is a no go for insurance but a GTO/300zx would be ok?

How about an audi TT? its 4wd not rwd but it has 4 seats, its quick, can be had for about 3k and if you buy well shouldn't cost a great deal to maintain.
