What card 5850 or 5870

Agreed if you have a system than can cope with it.

Otherwise just get a single 5850. They tend to overclock to 5870 level and you save £100. The 5870 will probably clock further, but not by much and definitely nowhere near £100 better performance.

So unless money is no object, then it's an easy choice. :)

Want resoultion you wanting to use?

The 5870 would be best but the 5850 would be better bang for buck, both outpace the 285. Just depends how much you want the extra power.

Got a 920 and 5850 and got to say, its a really good combo. Not sure the 5870 is worth the extra. Also really tempted to xfire later on too :D

I went for the 5850 and so far been really pleased with the result, i was pondering over the same two cards and the length and price of the 5850 did it for me. will go for another one when the price drops a bit.

I have gone for a 5870 with my Q6600 at 3Ghz with a plan to get a 2nd one when I move to a new motherboard and CPU (1st quarter 2010)

Oh my lord, i think were twins. I have done the EXACT same thing, and also planning on getting a 2nd one when i move to a new motherboard and CPU early next year! lolz.

Em guys what is all this Q1 / Q2 stuff about? The hell?

mark for an extra £110 your only getting a few more fps in most games,at this moment in time the 5870 is too expensive for the small boost over the 5850, get a 5850 and save some money for towards rest of your build

+1 to the 5850, both amazing cards but for a £100 you can't argue with what the 5850 offers.

Then later on a crossfire solution will be affordable and great upgrade later in the dx11 lifecycle.
