What card can my comp handle?

Just upgraded to a 24" monitor so looking for a 1gig card to replace my 4870 512mb to make do until I make a full upgrade. What is the best possible card I can run without much bottlenecking?

You will most likely be able to use most of your GPU with any, maybe bar a 5970.

Bottlenecks are always exaggerated.
