I do know that pretty much anything will fit, as I have a GTX280 at the moment and that will go in, but I want something a bit smaller and cooler, that's all.

Should I be looking at single slot? And are there any low profile cards worth considering?

I don't want to dip dramatically below the 280 in terms of performance, as I play my games on a 26" screen, but I'm confused by the sheer number of different cards available.

I'd prefer to stay with Nvidia, but that's only because I have only ever used their cards, so if there is an overwhelming push towards a particular ATI then I'll consider it.

I kinda thought they were the same architecture as the 280. Is the Gold a particular example, and do you know if they are the same physical size?
