Thanks for the tips and advice guys. I found the 440 I used was adequate for my needs. So what card would be equal to this or better for the same price now? I will be doing a CPU upgrade in the next few months anyway.

Is there any particular reason why your current card wont work in Windows 8? Maybe start a thread on that, and try and get your current card working. If your on a budget i cant think of a cheaper way of solving your problem. :)

I did start a thread on my current card. Its something to do with the new drivers from nvidia. The craphics are all corrupt in windows 8 I didnt even try to load up WoW or anything else as the screen was pretty impossible to read.

I have tried rolling bak drivers but nothing happens. I used driver sweeper (iirc) to remove all traces of the cards drivers but it cleaned out my onborad gforece drivers and had to install thoses again. Its a real pain as the card is fine and works fine in W7. I have googled lots about the known issues and nothing is coming up to fix it.

And if he only plays one game?

Thats true. I do only play one game really. I do dabble in Simcity4 and a few others but not as much as WoW. I purchased the GT440 purely to play WoW last year as I found out it was sufficient to wows needs and mine. The on board didnt do anything.
