Hi
i am looking at buying my first computer from 'overlockers' or 'computer planet', this is going to be a high performance p.c./gaming p.c. around about £600,

now ive been looking into graphics cards and have been getting all confused, so many makes i.e evga, bgf, asus. But i want to know which are the ones to go for, and what model ati or nvidia.

i have been looking at 9800gtx or gtx+ but i know nothing of ati cards.

any advice or tips? i must also add that i would like to be able to play crysis lol

thanks

at your budget your looking at the 9800gtx+ (the + is the newer better version)
Which ati counterpart is the 4850

They will both "play" crysis but not max settings or res ofc

i must add that my monitor is only 22" hdmi input hanns g running at a max resolution of 1680 x 1050.

does this make thing better or worse?

Make the chioce od card i get any different? i know that my friend at uni has a 8800gt (not sure on model but he said its the one below ultra, asus)

and he can run crysis rather well and he has the same screen.

the 4850 wont play crysis on full settings? says who? ive got one and it hasn't failed me yet! do you say this from experiance or because you know nothing?

I say if you have the cash get a ati 4870, the 1gb version if you can afford it.
Unfortunately you just missed out on the sapphire 4870 1gb on offer at £166 with vat.
I missed out to
