I just sold my X1800XT 256mb and am looking for something to replace it. I have in the reigon of £150 to spend so looking for something thats going to be great in games and vista.

Soooo.... Do i go for...

X1950Pro 512Mb
X1950XT 256Mb
7950GT 256Mb

Or Will i get any good performance out of 2x7600GS in SLI? Or Wait for a 8800GS or 8600?

Cheers...

I hate to say it, but none of those options will really provide a great performance increase over your X1800XT. :(

If I were you I would buy a really cheap and tacky graphics card to keep you sane until the 8600GT\Ultra and R600\R610\R630 come around, at which point there'll be plenty of price drops and choices.

2nd'd - how much did you sell your x1800XT for, just out of interest? And why?

if you can afford it go for a connect3d x1950xt, beats a 7950gt 512mb and best card for under 200 by far

True, but won't he get like 25% more performance at most?

IMHO, the only real benefit you can expect to get (and feel free to ignore me) by selling your x1800XT (which is a great card btw) and spending only £150 on a graphics card is a modest/reasonable boost in performance, but you should be able to get a dx10 card. Just there is nothing out there that fits that bill at the moment, until NVidia release their 8 series mid range.

cheers guys... I sold it to buy a 7800GTX EE that a mate was selling as i know i can get another off another friend so i could do SLI with them, but having second thoughts. I sold my X1800XT for £95 and that was with a brand new Accellero x2 cooler. I am currently using a X300 that i have "borrowed" from work so i am not in any rush really as i have just bought another 360 with a few good games that will keep me going. I may hang on a little bit for the 8800GTS to come down by a little bit... Oh i have also bought a X2 4200 as well so probably should have waited till i put that in till i decided about the card but the deal was done...
