I've got an old socket 939 rig which i am adding a few bits too. Hopefully getting an Athlon 4X00 X2 and maxing out the ASrock Dual Sata Mboard to 4 gig. At the moment i have an AGP ATI 9800 Pro card but do have a pci-e slot so looking to upgrade the card.
The power supply is a 430W Seasonic so a decont one i believe.
Now i know that the system is low power by todays standards and most gfx cards are probably going to be a massive overkill and i dont want to get a card that is held up by the system bottleneck.

so the question oh gfx card gurus is :

What card would be best suited for the system, either new or used, that will make the most of what i have, but not have any of the cards power 'wasted'

hope that makes sense.

Hi there,

So long as you have a PCI-E port that can support a proper graphics card (at least PCI-E v1 x8 I would say) then I would suggest going for a card like this. I say this because it is a great price at £36 for a 9800GT and should provide more than sufficent graphical power for a s939 system. Also, it will work great with your PSU. FYI, the 9800GT just meets the minimum requirements for BF3 - so using a card like this you can expect to play even a nice game like that at console quality or better (especially considering BF3 isn't too CPU heavy).
