Hi guys

My friend recently bought a monitor with a 2560x1080 display.

What sort of card would he need to play BF4 on medium settings at 50FPS?

Thanks for any suggestions:)

guess depands on the budget
since he is playing BF4, i would say go for AMD for Mantle perks, decent fps boost according to the cpu he has, and overall smoother frames rate.
the minimum would be R9 280X for 239 bucks http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-323-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1842
if he has more money the best choice would be R9 290 for 359 bucks http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-344-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

i picked sapphire vaporx, because of the build quality, the overall cooling and overclocking capability and the silence, beside both cards have great looking backplates, i believe that the 30bucks extra from reference or other vendors are well worth it.

What is the budget available for a card? Whatever you choose I'd recommend a AMD card for that title.

Well he has a £550 budget for a PC (Don't know why he got that monitor when he told me his budget) So it would properly have to be a 270x unless you guys can come up with a good build for £550 including windows 8!

Thanks for the reply

he should stick to the highest memory he can get at the cheapest price, that would be
graphics card 3Go R9 280 power color for £179 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-171-PC&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1842
cpu AMD FX 6350 £95 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-347-AM&groupid=701&catid=1967&subcat=1825
MSI 970A-G46 AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £57 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-214-MS&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=2046
PSU SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2463
Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £61 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-290-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517
Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 £52 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-051-KS&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=1427
CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle - USB Keyboard & Mouse £29 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-024-CM
Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case £37 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-174-CS

Total = £570
missing Windows unless he already have it, if not £75 brings total to £645
there isn't much really to swap and save some bucks, the cpu is bare minimum without bottleneck, mobo also, he can go for 270 and save up 50bucks, but it wont be worth it, and he would have to update his gpu much sooner, i think thats pretty much it, or he can try to pick some 2nd hand items to compensate
