Well I would like a case, with a bit more width as it has to accomodate a Scythe Kama Angle CPU cooler.

Currently been looking at,

Fractal Designs Define R2 (which seems huge?)

Lan Li PC-A05NB

Lan Li PC-8NB

Lan Li PC-7FN

Would like something quiet and cool, easy to work within, it will be a basic set up at first but no doubt may end up with an i5 or i7 set up some day, more hard drives too.

Current PC,

Gigabyte GX-Z1 (small and neat with two fans as standard, but needs better fans(£20 to £30) and can't fit the Scythe Kama Angle, currently finding the Artic Freezer Pro 7 too noisy)
Scythe Kama Bay for extra cooling.
Gigabyte EP45-DS3P mobo.
Intel Pentium E6300 OC from 3Ghz to 4Ghz at times.
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro cpu cooling.
Corsair XMS PC6400C5 2x2Gb memory.
Sapphire Toxic Vapour X HD4870 1Gb graphics.
Samsung Sata DVD drive.
Samsung F3 1Tb hard drive.
WD Green 1.5Tb hard drive.
Seasonic X series 650w PSU.

Any recommendations or opinion/suggestions?

Many thanks,
Steve

I think any of the above cases will be better as long as my Scythe Kama Angle fits, the one thing that bothers me about the FD R2 though is the depth at 521 cm !

Any extra fans can come later. At the moment I was going to spend £20 to £30 on a couple of fans for my old case, and a quieter CPU cooler, getting any of the above instead seems like money better spent.

The Fractal R2 would be a worthwhile choice, although keep in mind the extra fans will cost you. The quieter the more expensive generally. It is also very heavy in comparison to the alloy Lian Li's.

Lian Li's are wonderful things in general. The internal layouts, and styles, vary dramatically though, as do the prices, so pick and choose (and read reviews) before you decide. I'm personally a fan of the A05NB but will it give you enough space?

A budget case you might consider is the Antec 300. I find it easy to build in, and it offers good cooling potential although you may need added fans again. It is understated, like the examples you've given and it's currently £41 from OCUK!

The HAF's are plain ugly, the K62 a little better (like the red interior, but a little too plastic and poor in construction/finish.

The Antec 300 isn't much wider/better than what I want to replace I think?

I've got a True Black in my 300 which is the same height as the Kama Angle so it will be fine.

The Fractal Design R2 is not as big as it looks though. It's actually not much bigger than my 300. I also have a Lian Li V2000 and that is huge! :D

Fractal Design R2 :) ,...I have 2 here, fantastic cases and not really that big at all, only slightly larger than a Lian Li PC7 ...although much heavier, much quieter and rather better made with many more features.
