I have tried to add extra fans etc to keep my Coolmaster Wavemaster cool and quiet, so far all have been a failure, next step would be a major chopping job trying to fit 120mm fans or bigger, so looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get a new case.
I am completely out of touch with cases nowadays, however I bought a ready built system from Overclockers a month or to ago http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-239-OK&tool=3 However I had the case changed for a Coolmaster Elite. This case cheap and cheerful is quieter and cooler than my Wavemaster, so shows how poor the wavemaster is.

I would like a case with a separate motherboard tray, however I would consider a case without.
What is case is recommended for (Air Cooling not water) also want a case that look “nice”, that’s why I bought the wavemaster.

NZXT phantom again if you want a tower
Coolermaster HAF X but as said its a 'marmite' case
HAF 912 if you just want a midi tower
Corsair obsidian if you have to much money to spend

Cases are very individual though so just keep an eye and you will find something you like.
 
not many cases do hav a separate motherboard tray unless your payin through the nose for it.

Silverstone RV02 = £110
Silverstone FT02 = £180
 
What's your budget? You are looking at a fortune for a case with a removable motherboard tray. Lian Li/ Lancool make high quality cases. How about an In Win Ironclad, I ask because I have one I am looking to sell (see my threads for the MM post). That is a very high-spec case with amazing quality, but it really depends on your taste.

If you like subtle- Corsair or Lian Li
If you like bling- NZXT or Lancool
If you like military stuff- Coolermaster or In Win

Antec's 902 and 1200 are good but their new stuff is just awful!
 
I found building a PC in a Coolermaster CM690 II case very easy, and the ability to route cables around the back has really helped with the cooling, and aesthetically looks very pleasing with its black interior (despite not having a window). The tool-less drive installation was especially nice.

It was slightly tricky to get the motherboard in, as there's not a lot of room at the top of the case for your fingers when you're placing it on the standoffs, but it wasn't too hard.
 
Sorry, guess I should have given a budget, circa £100 ish
Case needs to be a midi tower as it has to fit in desk unit hieght circa 500.

I found this as well and one of my standoffs seemed to be at an off angle slightly.
 
As well as good cooling, I really want a case that is clean looking (Wavemaster is a nice looking case) also need to be no more than 500 high.

On my shortlist are the Lian Li PC-9F & Lian-Li PC-P5B

What else should I consider prior to ordering?

Lancool k62 (it's made by lian li) so lian li build quality but not the price
Lian Li PC-9F

All of those three are solid choices i'd defo get the Lian Li PC-9F if you can get it for around £100 and it's a big if, much more than that and I'd be looking at the silverstone fortress ft01 silver ones around £125 black a bit more.

The PC-9F is available for £106 + p&p. Can be sourced a bit cheaper from Germany, but then you have the problem of returning it if there's a problem.
 
Choice made
I have decided that I want a Lian Li PC-9F, although tempted by the Lian Li PC-B25FB
Just need overclockers to stock them....WHEN?
