what causes a prime 95 blend test to fail

just testing a new 3.9 overclock
small fft's is fine
but a blend test fails in 1-5 minutes
is this ram related or how can i solve it:????

Either your RAM is overclocked way too much, or your Processor/Motherboard's memory controller needs more voltage.

i have 1600MHZ dominator ram running at 1599MHZ so it's not overclocked on auto settings 8,8,8,24,2t

memory controller is cpu-nb on amd isn't it

yep its cpu-nb

try 1.35 then if it seems stable go lower until it crashes again then back up 1 notch and see if that helps.

remember, more cpu-nb will cause more cpu temp.

Something is not getting enough voltage, up the voltage 1 step at a time and reboot and run the prime95 test again.

seems to have worked upping cpu-nb now been blending for 2 hours rather than 5 minutes

Nice good job man, just keep experimenting with settings to get a stable overclock at the lowest voltage = lower temps
