what causes cold boot problems

Seem to be getting a few cold boot problems recently i'll sometimes switch it on it will boot for 3-5 seconds then turn off it don't happen all the time probably once every couple of days as i turn my comp on and and off regularly to save electricity.

once it shuts down after a cold boot i'll have to press the power switch again.
Can this be diagnosed or is it just one of those things?

P:S comp is fine once on and higly stable and never get and problems at all!!

Mobo issues? if it's a restart and all is fine i doubt it's CPU temps. perhaps reset bios and try that?

After extensive research on a similar problem, it's usually the mobo at fault.
