So I have an Apple iPad 6th Gen. But I lost the charging cable, so was looking for a new cable.

When I looked online it was saying USB-C. So I bought the cable and a new charger.

But when I tried to connect the USB-C connector into the iPad it was too thick.

So does anyone know specifically what the connector is called?

Is it a proprietary connector?

Lightning. Googling the model you have with charging port or similar at the end would have given you the answer.
I googled the place I got it from but it didn't have a listing because it has been discontinued.

I went to the Apple site and it only showed the detail when I compared it with another iPad.

iPad only became USB-C with the 10th Gen. The Air and Pros have been USB-C for a few generations now.

Depending on the adaptor you'll need a lightning to USB A or lightning to USB-C.
