Hi All,

I'm looking for a cheap PC to run Linux on for general use (No gaming, video editing, or anything intensive).

Looking to spend around £100 - £150.

What do you recommend?

Thanks

EBay. Pick up one of hundreds of Dell, IBM, HP, etc ex office PCs. They usually have a series 7 or 8 Intel CPU, 8Gb memory and a 256Gb SSD, more than enough for Linux. Usually in small form factor too.

Yep. Lenovo Tiny, Dell Optiplex or HP Elite desk.

You can get an 8th gen i5, 16gb and storage for your budget. They're upgradable too, I run a couple as a Proxmox cluster and they're very capable little machines.

If I bought something like this, could I install any version of Linux that I wanted to without complications?
Just wondered if there maybe stuff like security features in the BIOS that may prevent me from installing / running Linux or cause me headaches etc

Thanks
