By accident I found out my router had somehow factory reset itself such that the ssid reverted back to the default and security had been reset to unsecured from WPA. I don't know how long it had been like this.
The only thing I can think of is that it happened when I switched my house leccy off at the main isolation circuit breaker the other day after I had the cooker fuse go, though I can't see why this would be any different to when I sometimes pull the dc power out the back of the router to get it to reboot, which I have done multiple times without issue.
As I said I can't be certain when this happened, although I can say that my PS3 was connecting to the net ok the day before I switched the circuit breaker, and it has always been configured with the proper ssid and wpa password. So am I right in thinking that if the ssid had been reset to default that the PS3 would not have been able to connect to the net via the router, even though the now different ssid name was unsecured? This will give me an idea of when it actually changed, cos I didn't go on the PS3 between the cooker fuse going and me putting security back on.
