What cleaning solutions

Hello,

Any ideas whats safe to use when cleaning blocks or metals in general like aluminum etc without damage the smoothness?

Doubtful any metal cleaner(brasso/autosol/Peek) etc) will damage the finish on a heatsink, just be sure to also clean it thoroughly afterwards with some IPA before applying your chosen thermal compound.

I generally use brasso, wash off with water and then wipe some Isophyll over.
