What do other people use? I'm torn between black and grey/white or white and black? Anyone suggest any better combos that are easy on the eyes?

I always go for the bog standard "Amstrad look of yore" combo which is green text on a black background. I always believed that this combo is best suited to your eyes as green text doesn't place as much of a strain as other colours. Whether it's true or not, haven't the foggiest!

white on black for production boxes and black on white for dev/test boxes.
interesting but how does your profile distinguish between the two?

I think my eyes would find it too hard to adjust between them tho. Am tempted by black and green now...

"Linux colors" schema on Konsole.

Looks like this:

I use putty - you can set the colours per box.

Standard PuTTY colours of grey on black, black on white when using XFCE (ZX Spectrum days!).. although I am intrigued now with using green on black :p
