My wheels have corroded where the polished rim has been chipped, letting water under the laquer. Probably due to my crap car washing in the past (once every 6 weeks). I have now moved house and have a garage a private parking to wash the car, so i intend to look after them and give the car some TLC.

I want to get them powder coated in something like anthracite and then maybe get some rim tape / dont think ill go for the polished rim again. Any ideas on colour?

Anyway these are the wheels just after fitting them, Rota Grids with the cut polished rim. 2.5yrs later they are a mess

If anyone fancies doing some PS that would be great.

Cheers

Powdercoated gunmetal all over. Hard wearing, low maintinence and will still look good.

Looks great as is! and im not a black alloys fan so well done! :D

Probably because they are not black, they are gunmetal :p

Looking good Si. As I said before, my vote would be to get them powder coated Anthracite or a dark silver. Still have a nice contrast against the body colour then.

One colour may work better too as TE37's never had a polished lip. If you do get the lip surface polished up though, don't clear coat.... much easier to maintain with a tube of Autosol

04 facelift wheels? Nicest ones imo.

Im considering getting mine done by pristine alloy wheels soon, might change them to black if thats possible, although unsure how it would look on my Nurburgring blue.

Pristinealloywheels.co.uk do a service where they loan you a set of wheels while your old ones are sent off to be refurbed, by all accounts their workmanship is excellent as well.
