Going away on holiday on Sat and want to take a handheld console with me.

My misses has got a Nintendo DS XL, but its a few years old.

Essentially I want to play some of my N64 favourites on a handheld to keep me entertained. Zelda Ovarian of Time is a must, and Goldeneye would be a bonus!

I had a quick look in a high street game store earlier today but was confused at the amount of Nintendo 3DS's available! What's the difference?

What sort of price am I looking at to get the console and a couple of games? Can you buy physical game for them or are you better off buying online and downloading like the Xbox One?

Think you might struggle getting Goldeneye. I have a new 3DS with Ovarian of Time. You want to be looking at the new 3DS. Better screen, faster, nub thingy and better battery. I have the white one with Snes like buttons!

Nvidia shield TV

Bought the 16gb version a couple of weeks ago, best £150 I've spent in years.

I use mupen64 with the glide 3.1 plugin, works a treat!

edit: sorry just noticed the handheld part! ignore my suggestion ;)

A mobile phone.
Some sort of controller grip.
An N64 emulator.

Not sure you're going to find any alternatives if Goldeneye is a must. It hasn't been re-released. Ever. I'm not sure any of Rare's games are available on handhelds post Gameboy (bar one or two games for the original DS).
