I bought a second hand set of 5.1 speakers and sub from ebay. They are Logitech Z-5500.

They arrived today and I have found out the control pod has a VGA connection for the display.

I have a GTX 580 and an Asus Maximus V Gene motherboard. As the graphics card and motherboard doesn't have a VGA connection I thought it would be simple case of buying a VGA to DVI connector.

According to they guy in Maplin I spoke to that is not the case. He did try to sell me some sort of converter box that he said would work but it was £50.

Surely there is a much cheaper option I can do?

These are photos of the control pod and the VGA connector. As you can see the control pod has a female VGA connection.

What do I need to buy to get my control pod connected to my graphics card?

Lol does it? I will check. What an idiot I am if it does. Thanks Stulid.

Edit

Yes I am an idiot. It does plug into the sub.

I have a new problem now. I have all 5 speakers working, the control pod is working but I am getting no sound from the sub. As the control pod is connected to the sub and working I don't know if I am doing something wrong or there is a problem with the sub.

I have an Asus Xonar D2X and using Windows 8.1

I have these speakers. After you first turn it on you'll have to adjust the individual levels to your preference, the sub is probably turned all the way down. Just hit the level button a few times.
