finally building my custom water loop.i'm going res/pump to gpu to 360 rad to cpu to 240 rad back to res.i've got a bottle of feser one but won't use it now i've read up on it.i'm going to use distilled water.i have a silver kill coil in the loop, now do i just use distilled water or do i add something else like anti algae or anti corrosion something???
 
Distilled & a silver kill coil is all you require.
Some people will also want you to add PT nuke but the kill coil will do the job.
 
you only need a corrosion inhibitor if you adding aluminium to the loops. Some radiator btw do have aluminium in them its depends on which radiator you have.

All so corrosion inhibitor's are one of the main reason why systems get blocked as they brake down when being forced though the injection holes at such a high rate and this cause's the partials to separate and gunk up the injection holes.

As for a silver kill coil this is a natural biocide and as long as its placed correctly will serve you well. It does take a couple of days before it works properly and over a period of time (12 months) will cause a smell in you water cooling loop but this is normal. Simply clean and replace your water every year (bit like cleaning you home) and it will serve you well.

You can add a second biocide but this is unnecessary in the long term of things as to be honest its only takes 12 to 48hrs for the silver particles to have a effect.
 
as for the rads.i'm using an xspc 360 and a black ice stealth 240.the silver coil is in the bottom of the res.thanks for the replys so far

but this must be blessed by the pope and he must add the PT nuke
 
bugger.the pope was here a couple of weks ago.i could have got him to do it then.too late now.virgin blood? hard to come by nowadays i believe.i'm using the ek nickel/plexi block on the gpu,ek full nickel on the cpu,black ice 240 stealth and xspc 360.i have a bottle of deionised water in the garage.would that be ok or does it really have to be distilled water.or do i have to go to utah and catch a yeti to use his urine???
 
Distilled or Deionised is fine :)

Make sure that you have some Unicorn tears on standby however, just in case.

Oh and you don't need a holy man, just NathWraith or rjk to reply in your thread and you are blessed already :p
 
It is a well known rule of water cooling that you must spend a minimum of 20% of the total cost of all your water cooling gear solely on the coolant, and it must come with a certificate from Ferrari and Stehpen Hawking.
 
i've got some unicorn tears from where i kicked one in the nuts for trying to steal my chariot.anyway this build is starting to get complicated so i'll document it all in another thread soon.how do i add pics to the thread??

ah,ok.my loop is currently running so i can check for leaks.so far so good.the tubes seem to be cold,so i am expecting good temps.i've taken pics throughout the build and i have had to mod my hafx to make the 240 rad fit inside the front so i'll do a build report soon so others with a hafx can see whats needed

I found feser1 ok. Currently on Fluid XP Extreme which is also good but not cheap.

We are already compiling a list of the heretics, we know who you are even if you do say you use di and silver ;)

Holy water has a tendancy to not be as pure as people think and is often tainted with scandal and has a nasty habbit of defiling young tubing.
