Yes shocking I know but I'm still running the stock HSF only my 2600k

Thinking about pushing the overclock a bit further so obviously need to sort out a reasonable cooler beforehand.

What would you kind folks recommend sitting atop my 2600k.

Don't really mind cost so open to both liquid or air coolers but something that won't deafen me would be appreciated. It's in use 24/7 and I would imagine ill be chasing around 4.8ghz if the chip will go that far

What you recommend ocuk?

using a 2600k @4.5ghz with a noctua d14 myself

intel burn test max stress test 74c and that's in this warm weather,tbh you'd need an above average chip to run 4.8ghz

4.5ghz-4.6ghz is usually the norm,you'll need low profile memory with that cooler too or else it wont clear the tall ram heatspreaders

Corsair H100 refurb are most likely RMAs returned because of problems (mostly pumps) and "refurbished" being sold with 90 day warranty. A product with a well documented history of problems only having a 90 day warranty puts me off big time.

Do the True Spirit 140 £34.99

or Matterhorn for £29.99

Both very good and cheap... Or spend twice as much and only gain 2-4c better cooling.

I'm back on air now (for how long I don't know) but I am using the Phanteks PH-TC14PE on my 2600k. Would definitely recommend - but as mentioned there are cheaper options available that I'm sure work within a few degrees of this.
