I'm about to order the following components:

i5 2500
6950 Sapphire Dual Fan
Asrock Z68 Extreme4
Corsair 750w TX V2
Kingston SSD V100 64gb
WD Caviar Green 2TB
Corsair Vengeance 2 x 4gb low profile
Fractal Design R3

Now what should I use to cool this? I'm looking at the Titan Fenrir Evo, although I understand that I will need low profile memory for this, which I'm struggling to find at in stock the mo.

Thanks

thermalright silver arrow or noctua nh d14 personally I wouldn't get that case though I'd get something better

@C64 thanks for the quick response.

By better do you mean more expensive? Cos I'm at the absolute limits of my budget, plus noise reduction is a big factor for me.

That nh d14 does look the business, although twice the price.

The best cooler around £40 is the thermalright archon in terms of noise/performance
As for cases I'd go with a Lian Li PC-K60B Black Lancool Dragon Lord K slightly cheaper so you could get a silver arrow at £50 when they come back in stock if you can wait.

@chingley

well the titan is around £35 and with that my build comes to about £985.

If anything I could do with cutting costs somewhere, although that said I'm also thinking sod it in for a penny in for a pound!

It's a beauty of a build though, and will last you a long time!
Seriously though, I'd consider the Gelid Tranquillo - will save you a tenner!

@ chingley

hmmm this Tranquillo gets good user reviews and apparently quieter than the fenrir and £10 cheaper hmmm

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 is surely not needed whats wrong with the cheaper boards like the gigabytes and asus ? also you could easily just get the antec 650w power supply at £70 also why the slow wd green hard drive surely you want something faster for games ?

whatever you do it's well worth getting the silver arrow at £50

Cheers man much appreciated and thanks for the encouragement I'm uming and ahing a little bit cos my builds rocketed from 700 to nearly a grand but I don't want to spend 700 and have something thats ok I'd rather spend the extra and get something that melts my face!!!

@C64
I must admit the PSU is the final piece in my jigsaw its probably the thing I've researched the least. I know I can get away with a 650 I just wanted extra headroom.

I like the Asrock for the overclocking options in the BIOS as I'm new to overclocking (this is actually my first ever build).

@logi-cat

jeez you've just saved me from a fundamental error. I was always planning on the 2500k but forgot about the k when filling my basket. There's so many variations of every component it gets mind boggling.

If you don't get a d14 or silver arrow now you will regret it later I guarantee it, the savings on a cheaper board and better case for less the case i mentioned which imo is miles better than the r3 as well as possible savings on the power supply allow you to get the best coolers.
Also gaming and general usage will not benefit from anything over 4gb ram whatsoever (over 4gb can be used by very few apps such as encode etc) you could always buy 2x2gb and add some later down the line if you feel you need it.

I still think the board is not needed and not sure on that hard drive at all I'd want something at least 100mb sec capable.
