If you cant wait then go for the Thermalight but its more money, and you need to find a fan. Got the tuniq myself for the q6600 :-).

Guys!

Sorry to jump in on the thread, but what is the difference between the two TT120 that OcUK sell? Is it just the LED fan?

I have ordered the one without the fan and now I'm concerned I have made a mistake :(

Don't worry you haven't made a mistake. It is just like you said, one of them comes with an LED fan and one of them comes with a regular fan.

Some people have said they find the LED fan slightly quieter but I doubt there would be much difference.

Don't own either, so I can't comment sorry.

Ah thanks for that!

I have a Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM Ultra Quiet so I'm going to pop that in and have it running at 1600rpm :)

Thanks again

Very happy the Tuniq Tower 120

even after 8 hours of Prime all temps are < 60 degrees.

Music to my ears :D

The Thermalright 120 Extreme I have has a bad base :(

But I have heard good things about the TT120, are the bases a lot better on these?

Also did you change your fan or leave the supplied one in place?

what do you mean by a bad base?

It was convex and I had a bash at lapping but in all honesty I don't see why I should pay to dollar and spend 3 hours sanding something down?

So I'm selling it and moving on!

Cheers headrat ;)

I had to re-seat my Tuniq as I made a half ass'd job of fitting it the first time, also make sure you screw the sucker down tight!

My temps went from 69 degrees (+) on my first fitment to what I have now!

Its just arrived at work

its massive.......lol just going to put an engineering ruler across the base to check and then I'm throwing this bad boy on tonight :D

Not hard but it's probably been 4 years since I installed my last cooler, just worth taking a little extra care and not worrying too much if you need to re-seat (fiddle).

are tuniqs hard to fit on a new build?

the only annoying this is you have to take the mobo out to fix the backplate to the motherboard...and the screws are a bit if a pain in the neck to get tight if you dont have much room due to motherboard layout...but generally its quite easy.
