Hi all,
Thought I would give Ubuntu a go on the upstairs PC after hearing it works well for most things The original OS on this old machine was the W7 Ultimate freebie evaluation release thingy which expired.
1st set of problems, the upstairs media PC spec is a E5200 on an Asrock 4CoreDual Sata2 mobo with 2x1gb PC-3500LL graphics is an AGP HIS IceQ 3850.
The CPU is passively cooled with the only fans being two 80mm Sharkoon SE's.
As this is passive cooled I like to monitor CPU temps, and also play around with OC settings. With windows 7 and running at 3Ghz I was getting around 40* 45* idle, reducing to 2.5 shaved off a bit of heat but not much.
Well so far I have found nothing to replace or replicate the likes of CPU-Z, Core Temp, Prime95, GPU-Z, Real Temp, Intel Burn Test, or HD Tune.
Surely people with Ubuntu still OC and take the time to monitor OC's with some sort of applications? (Ubuntu Forums has as usual proved useless with Conky being the only suggestion)
