What could be overheating?

Hi,


I have classic overheating symptoms. After 5 minutes or so BC2 my frame rate plummets from around 40 to under 10. To me this appears to be overheating due to the warm up period. I have monitored the temperatures of my 8800gt in Rivatuner and they seem normal and CPU temperatures are always under 50c.

What else could be overheating to cause a slowdown, but not crash the computer?

I did recently upgraded my GFX drivers, is it possible this could be causing a problem like this?
 
Have you checked motherboard temps? The sensor might not be near the hottest parts so maybe a finger on the heatsinks will tell you. Also you should be able to get temps on different parts of the GPU with GPUz or Everest. Have you checked general case airflow? Maybe a fan/dust filter needs cleaning out.

Also how about other games? Are they behaving the same way?

I think it unlikely to be the drivers.
