So i'm in the middle of a teamfight in League of Legends when my screen freezes and the PC is unresponsive. I'm forced to flick the Psu power switch. The start up then takes longer than normal ( about a minute compared to the usual 20 seconds-ish ). The Pc seems normal thereafter but it has crashed several times now, even while simply browsing facebook, and I have no idea as to why ?

Any thoughts / hints ?

Spec : i5 3570k @ 4.4
k2 cooler. ( temps are fine. checked with Prime95 )
gigabyte d3h mobo.
8gb 1600mhz ram.
corsair tx650 psu.
amd 7850 @stock.
boot drive is a samsung 120GB 830 ssd.
data drive is a 500gb 7200rpm Hdd ( seagate barracuda IIRC ) - Irrelevant but just incase xD.

I'll take a gamble and say the OC is unstable. Try it at stock clocks fella. When in the BIOS enable the XMP profile for the RAM to take care of the best speed and timings.

It's wise to update the BIOS on that mobo, there have been a few updates now. It's simple enough to update. Extract the files to a USB pendrive and press the end key during boot to access Qflash

its probably memory related

clear the cmos first and then try getting into the bios

things to set even if your at stock clocks to improve stability are setting the cpu bclk to 100,set cpu voltage response to fast and manually set the dram voltage according to your ram, usually 1.55v

then see if its any better

Sorry what i meant about the monitor was that i think its the reason i can't display the BIOS screen. Thanks wazza i'll try all that.

Edit: tried a different monitor and yep the Bios Displayed. Updated , rolled back to stock for now. ( with Wazzas suggestions ).
Will have to see if it fixes the random crashing problem though.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

if it was random crashing at 4.4ghz you need to test for stability, you could need either a bit more cpu voltage or dram voltage
