Non OC
cpu 4670 default
mem 2666 default with 1.65 v
Using onboard gfx

This is a HTPC used only to play video files

Temps are fine at no more than 48oC
Been running fine for years until a few weeks ago since then the above img has happened on at least 4 occasions and pc has frozen requiring a reboot

Any ideas?mem maybe?but I have done a memtest for about 1 hour no errors at all

Could be the onboard graphics failing, have you got a gpu to put it to try?
I did try that a little while ago but for some reason could not get a display(set it to use gfx card and auto)neither worked.gfx card worked fine in another pc
Will try Furmark tomorrow night
Plenty of airflow in the case too

Well just completed 3 runs of 3d mark back to back
Not a crash in sight:confused:
Also ran a stress test with 100% usage on all cores for 10 mins same all fine, temps at 55oC
Any other suggestions?:)

Default windows 7 drivers, has been since it was first loaded or updated itself
If cable surely it would just fail?It is intermittent, works for ages then suddenly goes like the pics and crashes(cable is not moved). No warning,no stressing of system just playing video files
Its a weird one to be sure
Gonna give it another go tonite ,if it crashes again its gonna have to be a new/other system(spares box)

Knocked the ram down to [email protected] see how i get on for now :)
Thanx for the suggestions
EDIT:Re Bios there are later Bioses available but next up means you cannot downgrade so I have avoided updating. (GA-Z97X-SLI)

Update:
Been running ok since the first now
Fingers crossed the drop in speed and volts on the ram sorted it :)
Thanks guys

Strange that dropping the speed has not affected the WEI rating at all:confused:

Memory HAS BEEN running at 2666 for MANY years
Just recently it was crashing frequently,so I dropped the speed and volts to fault find as it were
You did read the opening post I made right?

Anyway at the moment it has been used for about 5 days/evenings now with no crashes and no loss of discernible performance so I will keep it at 1600

Re Bios
If i upgrade i cannot go back according to the info on the manufacturers page, why would they do this?
Always been able to down grade in the past

True.something is definitely up but for now so long as it plays i am happy.it is only used for a htpc and i just wanted to switch it on and chill with a beer and a video .☺
