what could this be?

ok, recently every time i turn on the pc, it boots as normal for about 2 seconds. then it shuts down instantly.... then a few seconds later it will re-boot itself and work fine.

what is cuasing this?

Isn't this the mysterious bug that happens to some P35 mobos? What's your motherboard?

The double boot "bug" is a feature of 3 series motherboards when you change certain settings in the BIOS (typically RAM dividiers, straps etc). It shouldn't cause it when you first turn on unless you have an unstable configuration in the BIOS and it's resetting to default settings.

mine does it only if i have changed settings in the bios or the pc has been turned off at the mains.

i have the P5K-E

come to think of it, it has only happened when the pc has been turned off at the mains. so its nothing to worry about right?
