Then again I get my music from the internet, so if that was taken away I would be equally as miserable!

Taking the word 'thing' at face value (ie non human)... my washing machine. Yes, I'd miss the internet greatly (the world at your fingertips!), and no chocolate hob-nobs would be a chore, but I once lived for six months without a washing machine and without a launderette within easy reach. It re-calibrated my 'need' scale. Whatever happens I need a washing machine.
