What CPU do you have?

I have the same case as you with the stock cooling in the case. I have the Prolimatech Megahalems heatsink with an Akasa Apache Black 120mm fan and my Q6600 @ 3.2GHz under load is about 60'c and idle is between 28-30'c.
 
I will be getting.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)

Only problem i see with the Tuniq Tower is i have screw it in myself and apply the paste and i never done that before.

With the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 its all done for you but i am not sure how good cooling is as its like half the price of the Tuniq Tower.

You should read my thread a few down, I'm having a hell of a time trying to cool my quad with a recently purchased AC7 Freezer Pro Rev 2, from reading around they don't seem to be that great with quad core cpu's, I know the Tuniq Tower is a bit of a pain to install, mainly because of the back plate (although if this is a new build then that's not that much of an issue), but I would take that over the Freezer any day.
 
Buy one of the big boys mate TRUE,Megs etc....not only are they daddy coolers but you will never really need to change it therfore only buying once...buy a cheap one and you will only replace it next year :D
 
My brothers PC is running a Quad Q6600 clocked at 3.2 using an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 and I agree, the cooler isn't too good with quads.

I remember when I had that system before I passed it on to my brother, I had a E6600 clocked at 3.0ghz using the same cooler and idle was around 35 - 37 ish...

The Q6600 with a slighty higher OC as it seemed stable, temps are around 45 - 49 which is quite an increase.... So would agree, Arctic Freezer 7 isn't a good quad cooler.

I use this with a i5, keeps my CPU and current clock at idle average 38... And my 900 case is getting a tad cramped with HDD and GPU's etc... lol

Applying paste is very simple, just use the correct amount and you will be fine. If you not sure, just google it and I am sure there are a lot of great guides out there.
 
Also have the CM 690 dominator so the fan will fit, although i did have to take the top side panel fan off to get the side panel back on!!
 
The Titan TTC-NK85TZ/V2 Fenrir does seem better at cooling then the tuniq tower 120 and its cheaper mite go for that one then :)

i like the zalmans (cnps9500, 9700, 9900) as i think they take into account cooling the whole system ie components around the cpu and multple airflow setups, rather than just hardcore cpu cooling.

works for me & my quad athlonII anyhow.
 
I subscribe to custom pc and from all the tests they have done with cpu coolers the titan and now gelid tranquilo come out tops with all the sockets they have tested for various cpu's.

Everyones set up is different but i think as long as cases have decent cooling and airflow too then most cpu coolers should do a good job.

Obviously thermal paste has a big roll to play too!!

I think that is just as important as the cooler itself.
