What CPU do I have :confused:

Yesterday I ran AMD64 TCaseMax

But it says I have a Toledo class CPU which is a dual core CPU like X2/FX while it is a San Diego 3700+

So can it be I have a failed dual core CPU with a disabled core perhaps?

Good question, I'm at work now

I think it said a San Diego 3700+ but it is a Revision: JH9-E6 which is the same as a Opteron 170

When you get some could you take a look at the stepping?

My guess is it's CCxxE, which would be a Toledo with one core disabled.

CCBWE 0542 VPMW is the stepping.

So it really is a dual core with one disabled, never knew that they did that.

/goes off to look for a program to unlock the core and have a cheap FX60

it was locked for reasons after all....

ahhhh, I thought they perhaps had too much Dual core CPU's and too few 3700+ CPU's and had to use dual cores as 3700's

A bit like videocards.

I have the same chip, so that means I have a down graded dual core chip??

It looks like it, Toledo's are what FX60's are

Maybe one of the core was unstable and to make some money AMD decided to sell it as a San Diego 3700+ by disabling the unstable core.

So is all this good news or bad news?

Doesn't matter really, you can't change it into a dual core CPU and overclocking isn't going to change either.

Mine is running at [email protected] which is fine.
