What CPU/motherboard combo ?

Anything first person shooter/driving/fast paced then 144Hz will be beneficial.

You get a more fluid motion on screen, even moving a mouse pointer around looks better on a higher refresh rate monitor.
 
That wallet is starting to empty itself I see.

I have the cheaper 144hz AOC G2460FQ screen which, as stulid mentions, lacks an adjustable stand and usb hub but I think the supplied cables are worse also (DVI is single link and the VGA cable is pure crap so neither could handle 144hz. DP is fine though).

At the current prices I think it is worth the little extra for the AOC G2460PQU if you are trying to decide between them. The are pretty good value for money for 144hz and I am more than pleased with mine (coming from an old 19" CRT though)
