I'm using an older version of prime95 at the moment. Small fft's without punishing avx instructions. The avx instructions in the newer versions add 10deg c to my temps roughly. Unnecessary punishment considering I don't use any software that utilises them like that.
I am still looking for a stress test that doesn't take too long and pretty much gives you the green light for gaming as I don't do anything much more hardcore than that...
Realbench is good. Plus your own software and tasks. XTU is also good I think thats Intels own stress testing prog. Run this with Valley or Heaven to stress PCI X controller on the CPU.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I really liked Aida so I went ahead and bought it. So many times I just use the "free trials" but I thought it was time to pay back.
Aida uses AVX instructions which hammers Haswell and if using adaptive or offset voltage will force it to draw a extra 0.1v. It's also completely unrealistic when compared to normal operation. You should have just downloaded Realbench.
I always used to use LinX or prime until haswell, and now switched to running realbench which seems to do the job just as well and doesn't load as much heat onto my CPU
