What CPU upgrade for OCing?

I have a Q6600 B3 stepping which will do 3.25GHz with my Tuniq Tower.

What CPU is the best upgrade for overclocking/bang for buck in the intel quad range and below £200?

I am happy to buy a new mobo costing up to £150 if the old DS3 is not up to scratch.

Thanks.:)

Asus P5Q Pro Intel P45

£88.11 inc

Ok so start by buying that mobo . . .

-£88.11

Swap out your old Gigabyte DS3 for your new shiny ASUS P5Q-Pro and see if you can get a better clock from your old Q6600 B3 Stepping, then sell your old mobo . . .

+£40.00

After you have got your head around your new mobo and pretty much maxed the clocks on your old quad core its probably time to buy a new CPU to go in your new chipset . . .

- £180.00

Get the new CPU installed, with that budget you could have a nice dual core or a nice quad core (your choice!) and let it rip using the P45's amazing overclocking abilities, while your maxing your new chip time to sell your old Quad . . .

+£70.00

TOTAL Spend: £ 158.11
+ Asset Liquidation: Q6600 B3 Stepping + Gigabyte DS3

Suggested Budget: £350.00

Budget Saved: £191.89

Kit Now Owned: Intel® P45 Express Chipset + Wolfdale or Yorkfield Uber CPU!

If I were you I would save my money. Even a clocked Q9xxx isnt going to be THAT much better than a Q6600 at 3.25Ghz. IMO wait for Nehalem.

If you are desperately after something, go with the 9550 in your price range...
