I want a pair of these for gaming, I shout a lot when streaming and I think it's because I have closed headphones. I have the volume up loud so I can hear foot steps in FPS and I've read a lot of DACs/Amps that are cheap don't power 250ohm. I guess I have around a £200 budget or more if needed for something that will work well.

Thanks

The Sound Blaster G6 should drive them well and has sidetone so you can hear yourself in your headphones, you can adjust the level of this too.

In reviews it also measures very well. I have used it to drive Sennheiser GSP550 and 58x with ease, I haven't needed the higher gain mode.

Open headphones are very effective for toning down your voice level.
Because you basically hear environment's noise normally through them and would have to use seriously hearing dangerous for long listening volume to not hear your own voice.
Though any noisy keyboard would also be problem.
(I own DT990 and use primarily them currently)
If you want maximal competitiveness for distinguishing footsteps, DT990 isn't at top leel with its above neutral bass.
But they're still really good and that bass also gives good "fun factor" for balanced game immersion.
Something which can't be said about top competitiveness level cans with neutral bass.

Assuming integrated sound card isn't scewed up design they really aren't that demanding and with average power ned per dB need only little current.
But Creative has B-stock Sound BlasterX G6 for £70 giving super high bang per buck.
Unlike bass bloaty Dolby Headphone Creative's HRTF also fits well for above neutral bass headphones.
