Hi fancy sticking a Dart Board up in my garage.

Do not want to spend a lot. Brick walls.

What should I buy and what darts etc? noticed the local Argos and Sports Direct sell them as well

Just for a bit of fun with mates when they come round that is all.

Thank you.

If it's just for a bit of fun and not something you plan on getting into (darts can be quite addictive :p) then something like a winmau masters or diamond for about 20 quid ..both quite durable boards , for an extra 8 or 9 quid you could get a winmau blade 4 or a unicorn Eclipse pro ..i use the blade 4 myself , the main difference being they are staple free and you will get a lot less bounce outs..worth the extra imho.

Darts ..this is something you will just have to get a feel for yourself as there are various different barrel shapes , weight's and grip's ..the price is generally dependant on the tungsten percentage used . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Winmau-Fo...Sporting_Goods_Darts&var=&hash=item1c2e9587c7
you'll find cheaper on ebay i'm sure but these show the general two types of barrel , a bullet and a straight. I'd start off in the 23-27g weight range and take it from there.

Managed to get a Winmau Diamond Plus Brand New for £10 plus a set of unicorn darts. Think there 22 grams, for £4.99 from Sports Direct.

Just going to put it up in the garage tomorrow with some thick carpet behind it as protection for the darts.

Winmau boards tend to have slightly smaller doubles and trebles than Unicorn boards. Both are good quality boards though.

As for darts, very much personal preference, but you might find anything above 26g darts a bit heavy. I find they feel a bit unnatural to throw. The ideal beginners size IMO is 22-23g.

As I say though it's very much personal preference. Phil Taylor uses 26g darts while Steve Bunting, the new BDO champ (now in the PDC) uses 14g, as does Ted Hankey. They must feel like feathers. Grip is important as well. For example. I can't stand ringed grips, but love knurled grips. Some players like Terry Jenkins, have no grip on their darts at all.

You need to get a couple of sets of darts, and a selection of shafts and flights. The length of shaft on your dart can make a big difference too. I use short nylon shafts and standard nylon flights.

Darts corner is a good site. They actually have a dart selector which allows you to filter your results very specifically, to find your perfect dart.
