what device for 5.1 with plex

As far as i am aware plex does not support 6 channel audio.

No issues with 6 channel audio and Plex. I have Plex on a HTPC connected to an Onkyo amp and have no issues with 6 channel DTS, DD and even DTS-HD.

I find the people that do have issues just don't have it set up right. Using optical cable instead of HDMI, sending to devices that can't decode the audio so has to be transcoded, just not having it configured right etc. I've seen people say the same things about XBMC from HTPC.

i have my htpc connected via hdmi to av receiver..using LPCM have have no problem with multichannel audio in plex or otherwise..
