What dictates your nationality?

Makes me laugh when I see people say "I'm from the UK"
UK is the state/corporation governing England, Scotland, Wales and NI, it isn't actually a country.
I'm English, was born in England, and damn proud of it.

it would be nice if we could live in john lennon world :p

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

i'd say it's whatever you feel in your gut, the place where you lived most of your life or younger years, where you feel 'at home'

I don't know about other nations, but here in the UK, Chris Wilson decides whether or not you're English.

Or so his posts would indicate. ;) :D

Born and raised in Sweden, but lived here in UK for almost 11 years now. On passport I'm Swedish, but could qualify for British citizenship. However, I'm not overly particular about what I'm classified too as I'm not feeling that strongly about a particular nation.

You are, though.
Just like you're also from Great Britain and the continent of Europe, and will continue to be even if we leave the EU.

Nothing to kill or die for
But what about the latest Titan series graphics card? Those are to kill for, no?
What about Heston's Chocolate Pudding? I hear that is to die for... :p

when my family moved to England they became English. They spoke only English, etc. My siblings and I are the first generation born in England, but our parents and grandparents are as English as we are.

What?! They've never "become English"!

They might have a British Passport, but they're certainly not English.
