For some of us university is close to its end, in my case i finish in june. I have to leave my house by June 28th.
Im curious as to what other people did after university, did you go back to your parents? Did you go travelling? Did you find your own place to live and start fulltime work. Did you try and make arrangements with the girls you met at uni?

I believe i am going to stay where i went to university, i think i have a fulltime job sorted close by, and my gf is here too, but i need to find someone or somewhere to live soon. Does anyone have experience in getting rental accomodation after uni? should i find some students to live with and pay the council tax, or (preferably) find some cleaner accomodation but at a greater expense.

Thanks.

Found a job 2 months after my course ended and went in to full-time work.

Stayed living with my parents until I got work, then went to live in a house.. the girlf followed me.

I'm the year below you but if my internship goes well this summer I'm hoping to have a full time job when I leave. I should have a month or two between graduating and starting the job but I'll be skint from moving out in the last year. I'll probably stay at the parents for the first 6 months of the job so I can save some cash up. It's only a 20 min train journey from where I'd be working anyway.

I went to Aus & NZ with my 18th birthday money in the summer after the first year. I'd love to go on a round the world trip after doing my accounting qualifications though (about 4 years time).

I have done some travelling, a little in asia, and 8 months in Oz so i could settle down although im open to travelling. I think at 26 :( that i need to settle down a bit and do my travelling in smaller doses, very undecided about this.

Stayed at home until Christmas, then upped sticks and moved up to London with a two week contract shifting boxes for £8 an hour :p

worked full time in the bar i'd worked in through uni, got a house with some working mates and my girlfriend. the only reason i stayed was because of the girl i'd met (it had only been a few months) but we thought we'd give stick together and try and make it work. i ended up living with her and some uni mates who had finished at the same time, evenutally moving in with her on our own.

ultimately we left leicester becasue all my mates left and i began to hate it, so now i live with the gf and we're in the process of buying a house together in nottingham. we've been together for nearly 8 years ago.

Parents with full time work for as long as I could bear it then moved in with my girlfriend.

Stayed where I was, got a job to pay rent and moved in with my best friend, who is now my fiancee. Stayed in a mcjob to pay the rent before moving on to something better eventually.

My timeline went like this:

Early July - Graduated
End July - Got Married
Start August - Started job which I had lined up prior to graduating

It was a pretty hectic few months!

Graduated Nov '05 in I.T.
Dec '05- After ~200+ applications elsewhere, got job with older mate helping me out in Logistics firm, doing data entry/CMMS.
Aug '06- After seeing a saturated I.T. industry,Applied for Trainee Civils CAD Technician
Feb '07- Applied as Structural Technician
Jun '07- Boke leg, had argument with bosses, applied for Rail Technician. Still there.

Switch jobs = Insta Payrise ladder jump!!

Finishing this year. Staying with parents and saving for a year (in any job) so I can go travelling next year as I don't know when I'll get the chance to do it again.

Depends on how motivated you are on what you studied surely?

I know a lot of people who've gone Uni, and only one has got a good job.
The rest have either really bad jobs (barmaid), or are doing job they could have done without going Uni.

I am yet to decide what to do. Just about to finish my degree as well. I have been approached for one full time job and also to do a Phd. I have not yet decided what I am going to do. Would like to do a season (10 weeks) snowboard instructor in Canada before I start working but since I have been offered a job I feel like I might regret turning it down.. will see.

Stayed at home, god bless my father, did part time jobs, travelled around europe, did agency work, drank, had a good time and after four years decided that being a dosser wasn’t the way forward. Rejoined society, went into IT and here I am. Never regretted it, those ‘lost‘ years made me. :D

After my degree I worked in an Architect practice for 2 years straight from uni (well, I had 4 weeks break after uni), that I secured whilst I was in uni.

After my law conversion I bumped around for a year doing temping and part time jobs until I found my current job 3 months ago. Bit of a shock to the system going from getting up at midday to doing a 12 hours days (door to door).

I sit all day browsing this forum, it's great though i'm going slowly insane from boredom, but payday today!!

I don't know what I'll do yet, but it totally depends on where I get a job and where my boyfriend is going to be. I won't be moving in with my parents though, I don't pay rent here anyway, and they don't live far enough away that it would make any difference commuting anywhere.
