What did you do when Dreamcast died?

Skies of arcadia, Was that a game which got released a year or so after the Dreamcast died?

No, it came out on the Gamecube in ~2003, but was released on the Dreamcast in 2001.

i fixed mine when it died... still working 3 years later. It stopped reading discs.. turned out the thing had just poped slightly off its rail and was at a weird angle.

Still got my Dreamcast. Only console i have ever owned... it is class.
Mainly get's played after exam period when we are having some celebratory drinks.

It's getting a bit of a tradition... pizza hut buffet then the Dreamcast and some drinks before a heavy night out!

Still trying to find my lightgun and copy of HOTD.... must have lent it to someone :(. Also waiting for a reasonably priced Powerstone 2 copy to come up... last of the classic multiplayer games needed to add to my collection.

I still have my dreamcast and a lot of games stored away at home. I could never understand why it didn't take off as there was nothing even close to its specs around at the time and pretty much all the games on it really did rock very hard.

It seems to be way more popular now than it ever was originally. I still have a blast on Soul Calibur 2 once in a while - I still think the graphics in SC2 are amongst the most beautiful ever to grace a game.

Blame the PS2 propaganda machine for that one

To this day I don't know how they got away with such enormous lies!

Wish I could get the feeling back though. :p Maybe some things get appreciated more as memories..
Aye I know what you mean. I made the mistake of playing Perfect Dark recently... that game was awesome and nothing could touch it on release but it's aged so badly :(

Well mine went pop (ended up being a faulty aftermarket rumble pack of all things) I bought a PS2 and was quite pleased with my purchase. I went back to DC though with a second hand unit.

I then bought a Gamecube which just never grabbed me at all.

After that an Xbox which for me was the death of my PS2, which never got played again.

Mine is still going strong... bought loads of cheap games of the bay not too long back.

Only one game i want for it now.... SHENMUE 2!! had it ages ago but sold it like the complete maroon i am! lol

Shenmue = best game ever imo.

I carried on buying DC games like Shenmue 2 and The King of Fighters 2000 (even though im pants at it :p). I did buy a GC for Mario and Zelda but it's a medicore machine in my opinion.

OH MY GOD, I cant believe i said Skies of Arcadia was my favourite game for the Dreamcast, I feel Dirty now :(

Shenmue is THE best game I ever played on the DC, I've changed my mind. a lot of people hated it because it was slow paced at times, but for me it was fantastic, and you actually grew to know the characters and stuff. I'm still to finish shenmue 2 on the Xbox.

Is there a shemue 3 scheduled? I heard it was going to be a big series.

I rejoiced, Dreamcast was crap imo.

Gasp! Permaban tbh :p

My Dreamcast sits proudly beside my 360, I would be upset if any of them were to die. The only game that's been on the Dreamcast recently is Rez though... Good old "my eyes are bleeding" Rez, awesome.

In a interview about Shenmue Online, Yu Suzuki makes a statement when asked about Shenmue III. Here is a rough translation:

"Regarding Shenmue 3, we're not carrying on relative development yet, and I can't give you any further information for the time being."

Roughly translated by Kiyuu

Gutted :(

I've never play a game with such an amazing story. The emotions I went though playing Shenmue

excited, adventurous, proud, emotional, in awe

Such an amazing game

"I will avenge my farther's death, but first I must play video games then play a game of pool and attempt to win some toys."

i bought one lol

i got my dreamcast after it had died, i got a DC 3 games, 2 controllers, a memory card for like £80, then it turned out the only one they had left came with another 3 games :D

Still the best 'beat em up' ever that IMO. True it had some classic games the DC (Virtual Tennis, Crazy Taxi, RE: Code Veronica, Shenmue to name a few) but i cant say i was all that fussed when it 'died'

Cant say ive ever had the urge to play on one again since i gave mine away either...
