I got a Ender 5 Plus to play around with.
Nice, bl touch? Going klipper? Core XY?

Has creality touch, yes going klipper and core xy eventually.
Nice. I deliberately got the ender 3 so that I can mod it. My first print was the test print that came on the sd card. This failed halfway through as the free PLA that came with it jammed on the spool holder. I’ve now printed a bed cleaner from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6350581. It turned out quite well but there was some very slight stringing. Am I right in thinking that I had the nozzle too hot ?

check all the wheels, swap it to klipper and look into dual z configurations. I dont use it much now i've got the voron but the ender was a solid workhorse for the longest time.
If it's the filament that came with the machine stringing, start with some new fresh filament and then go from there, likely it might have absorbed some water.

I got a new nozzle for my bambu P1S, although I wish I'd asked for a 0.6mm instead of 0.4mm hardened steel.

I got some PETG-CF to try, had to get the hardened steel nozzle myself but really owe the P1S some maintenance before doing too much.
