When you first started to get into music and mixing and what not what was in your setups?
What Decks, amps, speakers, mixers did you have.


Im just curious to see what most people start with :)

I my self have not started with anything yet because im skint but this will help all the people that are getting into things and wanting to know what would be good to start with and what others used :)
 
I started out with a tape player, pressing rewind and fast forward at crazy points in the song to hone my DJ skills. Now i use a cd player and it can skip tracks aswell! DJ'ing is such a talent, i believe that one day i'll be able to utilise the " Play and record " technique used to make extra copies of music!
 
Started with a crap pair of citronic DD's and a numark mixer. All in all it was dreadful and completely useless. I was glad to be rid, and they served no purpose whatsoever. I scratch and they used to skip constantly and the mixer was useless.
 
I started beat-matching by syncing my dads record player up with a tape player, I'd have to find a track at roughly the same speed and use my finger to slow it down, LOL I even used to record the output with the mic from a second tape player, Jesus what a waste of time.

I *think* I had a really bad pair of decks before I got 2nd hand 1210s and a tidy Numark mixer but I'm not sure. I sold all my gear years ago, don't even have an amp these days, just some nice headphone and a good soundcard.
