Will there be a performance difference

Im interested in buying one of these 2 boards and the only difference i can see is the memory one uses DDR4 and the other uses DDR3 apart from that they look exactly equal so what difference would i see between using the DDR3 board instead of the DD4 board ?
Only reason for choosing the DDR3 board is i have spare memory so no need to buy new stuff.
Thanks

Will be using the i3 6100 cpu

Any difference will be small and not noticeable, besides the DDR4 version is limited to 2133MHz so its not like you can take advantage of higher speed DDR4.

The Skylake motherboard in our latest office PC begs to differ. Its an Asus Z170-P D3 and is running fine with some Corsair XMS3 in it at 1.65v.

It'll run fine until you burn out the IMC on the CPU. Just fine.

Often when things with PC hardware are ill advised, it doesn't mean that you will immediately hear a bang and smell smoke. Often it means that deterioration will rapidly occur until one day you wake up and find that your computer is dead.

I urge you to ditch that high voltage ram and get DDR3L which if I'm not mistaken is 1.35V or less. 0.30V is huge jump for an IMC. We're not talking about putting 1.65V RAM on a 1.5V IMC, it's a 1.35V IMC. .15V you can get away with. .30 volts? Not a good idea.

Don't say you weren't warned ;)
