Need to replace my camera at the end of the month.

It's used for festivals, nights out that sort of thing. So don't want it to expensive. Around the 60-80 mark. It needs to be able to take big cards 8GB, if it could take SD cards that would be a bonus. That's the problem with my current camera limited to 2gb and very picky about which SD card.

Obviously fairly compact and good at people type pictures from a few meters.
Do the anti shake things actually work?

However I don't mind buying ebay or 2nd hand to get more for my money.

What would you guys recommend.

kodak z1275, i spotted it for £70 on a competitor,
nikon p50, pentax optio e50 are all pretty good, i think you can find them for about £70-80. The kodak is pretty good. I'd probably go for the kodak first, then the nikon.

Thanks, the Kodac does look nice, will have to have a search for that price..

However it does look big, might have to go look in a shop, as I do need something that will easily fit in a pocket.

I'd pay another £20 and go for the Fuji F40fd new or pay £70 and get a refurbished one direct from Fuji themselves. All the kodak cameras I've seen have had truly awful noise even in the lower iso brackets and Nikon never seem to get their compacts quite right.

Just to re-inforce my point about the Kodak mentioned, I just did a quick search for a review and a (not amazing source in trusted reviews) gave it 4/10 on image quality which is quite frankly awful. The F40fd on the other hand gets mostly excellent reviews and user opinions everywhere. The only thing against it is limited user control and it's not an F30/F31 :D.
