What do "B" Grade monitors have wrong with them?

Nothing.

They have been returned as unwanted or otherwise and may not include some accessories. You also only get 90 days warranty.

I enquired about these and the Hazro ones yesterday this was the response

it's likely to have dead/stuck pixels or screen bleeding.

I think its probably more pot luck with B grade monitors. I checked the specs and these have glossy screens anyway so that put me off as I hate glossy monitor screens.

Dsr would still apply to these though wouldn't it? So if you got a naff one with several dead pixels you could just return it?

True but it is a lot of hassle if they are all bad quality, if they were all unboxed with only the monitor on its own then that would be great as long as their is no more than 2 dead pixels that are in the corner of the screen.

I wouldn't say that as a blanket statement.
I was looking at one before, but no way am I risking like 500 pound (As I was going to get an x1600 screen) for something that may have backlight bleed/dead pixels which don't constitute a fault.

Monitors are one thing I'd never buy B-Grade unless someone had test it. Which OCUK weren't willing to do.

I've taken a punt on all sorts of different b-grade stuff over the years sometimes things come like new other times they are fairly used or or have no packaging.

Although they state things can be missing accessories they cant be missing something that makes them "OPERABLE" like for instance a Power brick but they can be missing things like manuals and dvi/hdmi cables but they shouldn't be missing anything required to actually power the item otherwise they aren't "OPERABLE" And if they are make sure you get in touch asap and they should sort it out asap as b-grade are sold as "OPERABLE"

Infact I've just gambled on the Hazro 1440P they had for £200 so I will update tomorrow with what comes!

I have returned things under the OCUK 14 day guarantee even b-grade so you can always use that.

I've also returned things under the dsr which are absaloutely fine just not for me, presumably they will have been in the b-grade at some point and someone would have got a bargain, I reckon its just pot luck but the savings can/could be worth it.

I have just taken a gamble on a Samsung U28D590 from the b grade section.

If it has 1-2 stuck pixels around the edge I'm not too bothered, any more and I will be using the dsr. I will update tomorrow, when it arrives.

From personal experience I'd class buying a new monitor as a gamble and a B grade experience from here.
Actual B grade, whatever that means - A barge pole isn't long enough.

I bought a B Grade DGM 27" 1440p monitor and it had a purple patch of dead LEDs right in the middle of the screen, and the PSU had a serious high pitched whine. I sent it back for a B Grade 1440p 27" AOC monitor. The replacement has a small scrape about 1cm long at the lower left of the screen that I really need to look for to notice.

So B grade is more than likely going to have cosmetic damage (or worse). If you get lucky it comes with zero screen problems, or like me, only minor virtually unnoticeable damage.

So I have just got the monitor, it is pixel perfect as far as I can see with no marks.

It does have a little bit of back light bleed at the bottom, which is not too bad at all so I'm not bothered bothered that.

The major problem is they have no shipped part of the stand! so there is no way to use it...

Anyway I have given them a call and they are shipping the part out later on today.

Mine arrived today, its brilliant no dead pixels and very minimal backlight bleeding, it came like a new one, it just had fingerprints on the screen which I have now cleaned, the image is stunning.

So some people do get brilliant B grade monitors, thinking about it I don't think it is for me unless I can make a absolute killing with the savings, maybe I would buy B grade but for monitors I might just stay clear and also save the money :)

BTW I forgot to add thank you for replying with how your monitor is, hope you enjoy it :)

No worries mate, I knew full well a b-grade monitor is a gamble as is a new monitor just not so much, however if it had a drastic problem I would get it returned at ocuk's cost if it just wasn't good enough for me I would spend a bit to return it, my saving was £100 off a new one which i reckon is worth it, I already know the Hazro monitors are not the most well built monitors but the most important thing for me is the image quality which is just stunning, I've owned multiple eyefinity setups dell's, lg, samsung pretty much any brand you can name I've paid under £100 and over £500 but for £200 the hazro is the best picture for the price imo.
